Dkeem (“us,” “we,” or “our”) operates the Summonses mobile application (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the Service.
The short version: we do not have user accounts on our servers, and we do not collect, store, or transmit your personal information or your payroll data to us.
Not affiliated with any government agency
This App is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the New York City Police Department (NYPD), the City of New York, the State of New York, or any government agency. All content is for informational purposes only and is not an official source. Always verify information with official government publications and websites.
Your ESS (Employee Self Service) login and payroll data
The App includes an optional feature that lets you view your own New York City payroll, overtime, and leave information by logging into the official NYC Employee Self Service (ESS) portal operated by the City of New York.
Your ESS Reference Number and password are stored only on your own device, in the iOS Keychain, which is encrypted by your device’s operating system. We never receive, transmit, or store your ESS credentials. They are sent only to the official City of New York ESS website to log you in — the same as if you visited that site in a web browser. The payroll, overtime, and leave information shown in the App comes directly from your own ESS session and is stored only on your device. None of it is sent to us or any third party. You can remove your saved ESS login at any time using the “Remove ESS login” option in the App. Information stored on your device
Data such as reference content, overtime calculator entries, settings, and cached ESS information is stored locally on your device only. It is not transmitted to us and is removed if you delete the App.
Third-party services
The App uses Google Firebase to deliver app content (such as reference data) and for basic functionality. Firebase may process limited technical information as described in Google’s Privacy Policy (https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy). We do not use this information to personally identify you.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information, but no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. Because your ESS credentials and data are stored only on your own device, protecting your device (with a passcode and Face ID/Touch ID) is the best way to keep them secure.
Children’s privacy
The Service is intended for use by NYPD personnel and is not directed to anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted on this page, indicated by an updated effective date. You are advised to review it periodically.
